Download and first steps
The alpha opens soon. Create your account now: the download appears here when it opens.
- Start in an aircraft of your own: a piston single up to a light jet, at your home base on a weekly lease-to-buy with no deposit
- The ratings it needs from the first day, their course fees on a weekly training loan
- Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC, from Steam or the Microsoft Store. Not on Xbox
- A free SimBrief account, for each leg's flight plan
- The Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime for the maps (part of Windows 11)
- An account in the shared world, from this site
From the download to your first flight
About half an hour before you're in the air, most of it in SimBrief and the sim. Then the guide takes you through the rest of the app.
-
Unzip and start the app
Unzip the download into a folder of its own (for example Documents\Charter Inc) and start WestmarkCharter.exe, the app's file name from before it was Charter Inc.
While the alpha's builds aren't signed, Windows SmartScreen warns about an unknown publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway.
-
Sign in to the shared world
On the sign-in screen choose Shared world, and sign in with the e-mail and password of the account you made here. Tick Remember me on this PC to skip this next time.
Signing in waits until your e-mail is confirmed. Forgot the password? Reset it.
-
Make your company
The first time, the app asks for your company: its name, a three-letter code (your flights file as ABC123), the callsign ATC says on the radio, and your home base, at any airport. The card under the search says how busy the airport is and whether freelance work reaches it.
-
Choose how you start
Freelance: no aircraft and no debt, rated on single-engine pistons and turboprops. You fly the operators' aircraft for a share of each charter.
Your own aircraft: a piston single up to a light jet, waiting at your home base on a lease-to-buy with no deposit, paid every week; after 7 years a final payment makes it yours. The ratings it needs come at once, their course fees on a training loan. Each aircraft shows its week and the paid hours a week that cover it, and The terms spell out the rest.
Miss three weekly payments in a row and the lessor takes the aircraft back. Started freelance? The Fleet page offers the same until your company has had an aircraft or a loan.
-
Connect SimBrief
In Settings, under Connections, enter your SimBrief username or pilot ID. Each leg's flight plan comes from SimBrief, opened already filled in.
-
Take your first job
On the Charter board, Freelance jobs lists the gigs of the operators around you, in their aircraft; with your own aircraft, Near me lists the charters it can fly. Accept one.
A job that starts at another airport: travel there by airline from the Pilot page. It takes hours, as it would.
-
Dispatch and fly
On the Trip page, Plan in SimBrief opens the plan filled in: generate it there, fetch it in the app, and dispatch. In MSFS 2024, load the aircraft at the departure, start tracking on the Flight page, and fly. When you park, the flight goes to the server and the charter settles.
The sim runs at 1×: time acceleration or slew voids the flight. A pause, or a sim that crashes to the desktop, only suspends it: pick up where it stopped.
